Matt Lundstrom - Moonlit Beasts of the Ancient World
About: Monument Valley (Navajo: Tsé Bii Ndzisgaii, meaning valley of the rocks) is a region of the Colorado Plateau within the range of the Navajo Nation Reservation characterized by a cluster of vast sandstone buttes, the largest reaching 1,000 ft above the valley floor. The two buttes on the left are known as "The MIttens" and Navajo legend explains their existance as huge beasts of the ancient world turned into stone by the magic of the Earth's first inhabitants.
