About: A car lays beaten and buried in the sand post Hurricane IKE. Many Boliivar residents parked their cars in this now submerged Church parking lot with the belief that they would be saved.

Bio photographer: Sandy Carson (b. 1972) is a self-taught photographer raised in Scotland, now based in Austin, TX. He immigrated to the USA in 1993 after receiving an HND in Communications at the University Of The West Of Scotland. He was awarded Best Photographer in the Austin Chronicle best of 2009 awards and nominated Photographer Of The Year in the Austin Museum Of Art visual arts awards 2009. His personal work has been exhibited in New York, London, Switzerland, Germany and Los Angeles.
